Chris Voss

Host, Producer

Chris Voss hosts drive-time, weekday afternoons on WCRB. Chris graduated with a Masters of Music in Opera and Vocal Performance from the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music, where he studied with longtime Metropolitan Opera baritone Frederick Burchinal. He joined the WCRB team in April 2015. Chris grew up in Lexington, MA and spent his entire childhood listening to WCRB and WGBH at home. It’s a dream come true to be working for both institutions, bringing great music to people all across the region!

Ways to Connect

Who knew that Boston's impressive musical history was paved right into its streets!

From a new "First Folio", to the only extant script in his handwriting, William Shakespeare is still front page news 400 years after his death.

This April marks 400 years since Shakespeare walked the earth, and all month long, WCRB celebrates his legacy with operas inspired by the Bard!

This week, Bellini's "The Capulets and the Montagues” (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) with Anna Netrebko and Elina Garanca, which I learn to my great surprise, has nothing to do with Shakespeare at all!

Is there anything more fascinating than hearing the music of a composer who was deaf? Something about that idea - of creating something whose purpose is to be heard, but not by you - is fascinating, is beautiful and, in a way, is selfless.
