As National Poetry Month continues, a poem Beethoven used as inspiration for one of the greatest works of classical music.

So many of Shakespeare's works - including his poems - were inspirations for classical music.

The drab little skylark inspired a poem, which in turn, inspired one of the most beautiful pieces of music. It's National Poetry Month and we're looking at the connections between the written word and classical music.

It's National Poetry Month, and here's another story of the words behind one of my favorite pieces of music.

"Springtime is upon us.
The birds celebrate her return with festive song, and murmuring streams are softly caressed by the breezes,
Thunderstorms, those heralds of Spring, roar, casting their dark mantle over heaven;
Then they die away to silence and the birds take up their charming songs once more..."
