The distinguished violinist joins the Munich Chamber Orchestra for three early works by Haydn that highlight one of his deepest friendships.
Towards the beginning of what became a prolific and lengthy post as the Esterhazy family’s court composer, Haydn took under his wing the Italian violinist Luigi Tomasini. After extensive musical training, the young Tomasini was appointed concertmaster of the Esterhazys’ orchestra. Now, accompanied by the Munich Chamber Orchestra, violinist Isabelle Faust dazzles in a brilliant performance of the three violin concerti Haydn wrote for Tomasini.
