In a concert led by Music Director Andris Nelsons, soprano Renée Fleming and baritone Thomas Hampson, two of the greatest American voices of their generation, inhabit characters from John Adams’s groundbreaking 1987 opera Nixon in China. The program also includes Meditations on Grace by BSO Composer Chair Carlos Simon and Samuel Barber’s rapturously melodic and technically frenetic Violin Concerto, with soloist Keila Wakao in her Tanglewood debut.
