Thomas Rolfs is the soloist in Detlev Glanert’s eclectic and dramatic Trumpet Concerto, and Andris Nelsons conducts the Boston Symphony in works by Gubaidulina and Prokofiev.

The culmination of an era-defining project, two mini-festivals, and two major anniversaries only begin to describe a BSO season of illuminating artistic depth, rich musical color, and historic significance.

In a celebration of the composer's 90th birthday, Andris Nelsons leads the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Sofia Gubaidulina's "The Light of the End," as well as Rachmaninoff’s powerfully dramatic Third Symphony.
