Danish String Quartet

On WCRB in Concert with the Celebrity Series of Boston, the Danish String Quartet shares folk tunes from their native Denmark and Norway, as well as string quartets by Haydn and Shostakovich and three divertimenti by Britten.

The next season of the area’s largest performing arts presenter brings a stellar array of artists and ensembles to Boston, underpinned by a diversity of leadership and artistic voices.

Every so often, a new album is released that knocks the breath out of me. The Danish String Quartet’s “Last Leaf” does just that, over and over again.
