Saturday, February 15th, 2025 at 8:00pm, Herbert Blomstedt, one of the masters of conducting for over seven decades, leads the Boston Symphony Orchestra in symphonies by Schubert and Brahms.

The BSO's next season at Symphony Hall is anchored by Composer Chair Carlos Simon, major undertakings in works by Mahler, Beethoven, and Shostakovich with Music Director Andris Nelsons, and much, much more.

German pianist Martin Helmchen returns to Symphony Hall as the soloist in Mozart’s effervescent Piano Concerto No. 17, and Herbert Blomstedt leads the BSO in Bruckner’s colossal "Romantic" Symphony.

Joshua Bell is the soloist in Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, and Herbert Blomstedt is the guest conductor for the Symphony No. 7, in an encore Tanglewood broadcast.

In an encore broadcast of the closing concert of the 2021 Boston Symphony Orchestra season at Tanglewood, it’s an all-Brahms concert with Leonidas Kavakos as the soloist in the Violin Concerto and Herbert Blomstedt conducting the Symphony No. 4.
