Yo-Yo Ma

Saturday, April 12th, 2025 at 8:00pm, cellist Yo-Yo Ma returns to Symphony Hall for an all Shostakovich program, kicking off the Boston Symphony Orchestra's "Decoding Shostkovich" series.

In a Boston Symphony concert from Tanglewood, Yo-Yo Ma is the soloist in Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto, and BSO Assistant Conductor Earl Lee leads the orchestra in Carlos Simon’s “Fate Now Conquers” and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, on demand.

On The Bach Hour, the renowned cellist places the composer's music at the center of a world-wide effort to build local communities and confront their unique challenges.
